Five weeks to go before I take early retirement in Portugal. My plan was to have more time to write and to try to get published. Since my first post, I’ve written five more novels and collected a lot of rejection slips but the last one….well, what can I say? I sent it to one agent and he liked it. He liked it so much that he’s taken me on! Fab. Not only that, but he’s one of the best; Peter Buckman of Ampersand, the man behind Slumdog Millionaire. So now I’m told that I have to start blogging and building an online presence, so here goes; this blog is back to life, with all my bad typing and random thoughts.
Where do I start? I won’t try to retread the past two years so let’s go from last Monday when Peter decided to represent me. Now, not only do I have an agent, but I also stop the old day job, start drawing pensions from all over and get down to the real business of being a writer. Frankly, it’s what I always wanted and I’m really happy with the way things are turning out. So, I have decided that this will become the diary of a writer from the point of getting an agent to…whatever. Let’s hope it leads to a publishing deal and some sequels but I’ve never been here before so it will be a voyage of discovery for me. Please join me!
